Ghosts and spirits might be active on this ground considering the mischief and bad luck that ails/ailed the owners/occupants. In fact, there is something wrong about it. The ground is very historic. The entire territory is called – as already mentioned above – “Fühlinger Moor”.

During the years 1884 until 1888 the ground was built on with a stud, stables and as well the manor “House Fühlingen”. The purchaser of the ground was Eduard Baron of Oppenheim. Firstly, he bought a part of the area and later on the entire territory of the so-called “Fühlinger Moor”.

Any investment in the construction of House Fühlingen failed and cause ruin and bad luck for its occupants.

Oppenheim was the first victim. The stud was a mis-investment and he resold it in 1907. Then a gravel works arose on the ground. From this has been existing the “Fühlinger Lake” even till today, but it was also a mis-investment. Hard labourers were stationed there during the Second World War. One of them is said to have been executed. After the war, a “Nazi” lived there under a false name. When he was caught and saw no way out, he shot himself. In the years 50, the construction of a railway test track began but turned out to be a mis-investment again. Since the Sixties, efforts have been continually made to sanitate the building.

Three years ago, a new building permission was submitted for a private investor. But the sanitation and reorganisation of Fühlingen House was delayed. The investor had to change the ground-plans for some apartments because no purchasers were found for the bigger ones of the apartments that measured up to 171 square meters. Originally 21 apartments were scheduled. But as a condition requested by the town, 33 dwellings had to be constructed on the former monument-protected riding court. The already approved building permission expired because of re-scheduling. For the revised version a new approval had to be obtained. The authority for monument-protection had already approved the new plans. Since automn 2007, the place has been again “under construction”.

Also a lot of suicides took place on the site. Probably that refers to people who saw no way out of their financial ruin. It also exists a tombstone of a teacher situated behind the house, nearby in the forest.

But right there on this spot never existed a cemetary, neither was one of the owners/occupants of Fühlingen House a teacher. So, from where originates the teacher respectively the tombstone? Perhaps there exists no relation between him and Fühlingen House? It is left open for any speculations.

It is said to have been very bloody and mad.

The dead of this battle could be reason for so many things which have been taken their course not before the last 150 years. Probably the haunting was aggravated by additional dead of latter times like the hard labourers, the suiciders, the Nazi?

There is also everything open to any speculations.

Perhaps someday the truth/solution of the haunting will be found.
