The picture of this unidentified cryptid remains remind me of the fabled kelpie of scottish folklaw (although the face appearing slightly equine also reminds me of the puppet Alf from the tv sitcom too lol)

Along with you guys moosey and trin Im also thinking fake. I mean, they have a carcasse - they can try DNA, xrays etc to try to get more information gathered about it. Perhaps there is more information in the pipeline, I will keep my eyes open but whatever Doug is, he's an interesting specimen.

(I also keep looking at my title for this thread and thinking 'I wish edit would work on the title - its supposed to be 'cryptid' not 'cryptic' Kiri you wonky fingered wally!) :laugh:

Heres a more updated link. Apparently they are going to do xrays and other tests on it soon.

This picture also shows it to be a lot smaller than I first thought it might be. Im wondering now whether it could be a couple of mangled corpses of other animasl or something? I dunno. I will keep watching this space

Personally (like the other people here) I think it's a hoax. It has too many defined animal parts stuck on it to be one whole animal. Anyone remember how they used to stick monkey and fish bodies together with taxidermy and say they were mermaids? It looks hella weird though o0

I think it's an artwork, or an experiment to see how far around the internet the story will get in a set time. Or both.

The author of the blog is an artist and he lists his industry as communications/media, which is kind of suggestive.

On the other hand, whole thing could be an advertisement for something or other but I hope not.

Well I thought it was time for an update - and it seems the world of little doug is slow moving.....I have looked around a bit and there seems to be a definite tide leaning towards hoax.
