New Jersey couple Jose Chinchilla and his fiancée Michele Callan fled their rental property not long after moving in - saying things were thrown around, electrical items including lights flicker and footsteps and muffled conversations were heard from the empty basement. Due to not being told the property might be haunted, and they fact they feel they cannot live there they have sued their landlord for the return on their bond downpayment.

The landlord is disputing the haunting, countering by saying the couple want to break their lease due to not being able to afford the rent, and have asked for proof of the haunting.

One local paranormal group at least say they have investigated the property and there is indeed a haunting occurring there, in their opinion.

I believe it should be disclosed if the person selling the place is aware . I understand the Landlord needs to rent it out ... That is just to bad all the way around.

I agree. In some places like Hong Kong and regions in China it legally has to be stated upfront if they think a property is haunted. But then again, you can have suspicions and the people who move in might never experience any paranormal activity anyways.

Both sides of this fight have agreed to air their case on The Peoples Court - the show is going to pay. Interesting....

The Peoples Court ruling has gone the way of the landlord, however he has been ordered to spend at least one night in the home, presumably to experience what the tenants say they have experienced.
