Irene is currently near Puerto Rico and is expected to strengthen into a hurricane later tonight. It could threaten the southeastern US late this week or over the weekend.

If you are in the Carolinas please be careful with this one. :icon_hide: Florida appears to be safe.

Well, Sasq, I don't know. They said that the storm's eye will hit land tomorrow - and not only the Carolinas are concerned. New York e.g. is full of panic and opened an animal rescue center where you can give your pet to be safe.

The trains and shops are shut down now as far as I know since yesterday and are "storm ready".

May you all be safe on the Eastern Coast. All my best wishes will go to you and might Irene skip you and spare your land.
My own is a free spirit. No-one and nothing can put it behind bars, walls or in chains. It will force its way, breaking the limitations, but will be also present with kindness and wisdom :)

I had a number of people call in during the hurricane wondering why they had no internet connectivity. A few of them didn't even have power.
A few people were angry due to shipping delays.
People amaze me.

I used to work in DSL tech support and I agree, people have strange priorities.
