A new species of giant lizard has been discovered in the Philippines.

The 2m-long reptile is a monitor lizard, the group to which the world's longest and largest lizards belong.

The monitor, described as spectacular by the scientists who found it, lives in forests covering the Sierra Madre mountains in the north of the country.

The striking reptile has bright yellow, blue and green skin, and survives on a diet of just fruit, yet until now it has escaped the eyes of biologists.

But seriously, it makes me wonder what other creatures exist that the experts haven't cataloged yet. Most people assume all the animals larger than a bug or a small bird have been identified, but once again we see proof that there are many species out there that are quite large.

Look at the breeds of dogs people have created , so I know for sure we have wild animals that are
unidentified , bugs , birds etc. Look in the ocan even , some wild and crazy things are found. Science
is cool !

Yeah I know - especially since this lizard was found where people from around the world have investigated already, it just wasnt recognised.

What about the ocean and isolated forest/ cold areas? There's always something to discover.

To me it is a cute one. I like lizards/reptiles.
My own is a free spirit. No-one and nothing can put it behind bars, walls or in chains. It will force its way, breaking the limitations, but will be also present with kindness and wisdom :)

He is cute , love the colors yellow blue and green . Looks like he can hide very well not to be spotted for this long. He looks older ? Maybe he/she
has had little ones ?? We can only hope.
