I'm not a big texter , who else uses the cell phone more than the home/land line ? I really want
a new phone , I use the old flip phone. What do you use and what is the best one on the market ?
Maybe it has to do with the service too - Sprint , ATT , Verision etc.

We went completely wireless ages ago. I haven't had a landline in about five years.

I use Verizon and have been very happy with their service, although whenever you change something they're guaranteed to mess up the billing and it takes at least a month to straighten it out.

My phone is an LG 8500 (I think... it might be an 8650). I'm happy with it but I'm sure there's new technology out there.

And I just use my phone as a phone. Drives my textish friends nuts. They'll send me a text, ask me if I got their message and I'll be like "what message? no..." because we blocked texting altogether.

Hmm well I cant help much seeing as Im so far out of touch with the technology over there.

But I can say, I dont text much, but then again I dont use a landline much either.

I just find it all too annoying lol.

I got a "smart phone". I hate it, the touch scren is way off kilter, and got worse when the verizon tech worked with it.
They're exchanging it so we'll see...
Wasn't my idea to get it, all Ineed is a phone that'll call people.

I agree ShadowSot , keep it simple. All I need it to dial out , receive calls and/or have Voice mail get it ! My brothers have high tech
phones and it is a touch screen . I can not figure it out, or I touch the wrong areas etc...

I recently got rid of my verizon account (*hated* them when they took over Altell!!) Was walking through Walmart of all places and they have a new program called "Straight Talk"; $100 for the phone ( a sliding text phone) and $45 for a months unlimited service. Figured, what the heck, will give it a try and LOVE it! Transferred my old number, took about 2 hours, there is one little spot north of here that is a dead zone, but otherwise the service is awesome. No roaming, no long distance, unlimited talk, text and web. The web service is a bit slower than on the old plan but oh, well, that's why they make laptops. They also have a $30 1000 minute, 1000 text plan.

Not to mention it saved me over $100 a month for me and my daughter!!

On second thought, mine sort of grew on me over time. I kinda like it but sometimes people say I sound distorted. I think the building I live in causes some kind of static on the line or something.

I'm eligible for a new one now but I'm not going to get one just yet because my old one still works fine and if I break my old one (or get it wet more likely) I can just go to the nearest Verizon dealer and cash in my "new every two" which is what they call their plan. If you have been with Verizon for 2 years and your contract expires they will give you a free or discounted new phone ***IF*** you sign another 2 year deal.

Hey, if you don't mind me being nosy how much is the data plan etc for an Iphone. I am considering MAYBE going with an Iphone or a Droid next time around but I don't know if I really want to pay internet at the house and on the phone too. I'm trying to be frugal these days if you know what I mean.
