I'm a fan of not only ufology related literature, but horror/dark fantasy as well. My favorite authors are H.P. Lovecraft and Clive Barker. Feel free to make recommendations.
I'm an atheist and have libertarian-esque political views. I tend to view the term "supernatural" as a comment people mindlessly throw out when science doesn't quite have the answer to something in the present, which doesn't mean science will never explain it.
I have a firm belief that the government misleads and outright lies about ufo activity (I did't really need to specify that for obvious reasons). However, I staunchly disbelieve NWO order theories (reptilians, brain chips, robots taking over the world.....seriously?).
Generally, I'm kind of a weirdness magnet. I also enjoy heavy metal, concerts, playing guitar, coffee, cigarettes, movies, stand up comedy, good stories, true crime (mob or serial killer related), etc.
Hugs and kisses,........

Personally always thought it is rather arrogant of humans to believe we are the only life form in the universe. All those billions of planets and we're the *only* ones? Nah. Just not sure I believe that they are visiting here and studying us. Although; they may be using us as comedic entertainment!

If I was an alien, I'd have a good knee slapper or two over the things humans do. "Look at 'em. They're drinking that goddamn kool-aid again.....bwhahahahahaha!"
On a serious note, I do believe we're being studied. I think most abduction cases can be explained by sleep paralysis (something I've suffered from since childhood), but when they pull unexplained objects out of people's bodies that give off high levels of energy and somehow manage to not be flushed out by naturally occuring bodily reactions (bear in mind these objects also magically stop giving off energy as soon as they're tampered with).....something's up.
Ufology isn't the only thing I take interest in. Some cryptozoology (I mean "some" in all sense of the word), ghostly phenomenon, ESP,etc. Again, I believe all of these can be explained by science. No matter how bizarre.

Well, first of all, welcome to PTU. As I can see, you already feel at home. Enjoy!
I have not expected such text when reading the headline, rather the opposite. I am glad about every open-minded person I am going to meet in my life.
I am not so much into Aliens, but I second that we are not alone in the universe as intelligent beings. There might be civilisations more or less intelligent than we are. Also, I agree that we are studied by those beings.
This is employment of "sleep paralysis" is completely new to me. I only have known from pre-state of astral travelling/projection and demons draining energy. Nevertheless, it sounds quite interesting.
You have a good taste of literature and music according to my opinion.
Well, there are e.g. many institutes that mean testing ESP, but I am on the other hand very sceptic about them. Something like a test with Zener Cards do not harm .... but what else? (Very sceptic!)
And I think of all the aliens that are somewhere and being studied and tested by us. The ways mankind sometimes react can be very horrible.
But I am open for being taught something new. And about the "somes" let's find out.

I don't take this stuff too seriously. A lot forums I've gone too featuring such topics are filled with some of the most asanine, false logic-addled, charletons I've ever seen. You so much as question something and they accuse you of not being able to handle the truth (no joke. I had someone tell me that. I stood in aw staring at the computer screen and gradually felt drool running down my mouth because of the retardation I had just witnessed). It was started over me expressing that I didn't buy the "space brothers" abduction claims......excuse me for not believing that a highly advanced race would travel lightyears to our planet to do such a pointless thing as tell a handful of people to "be good and be at one with the universe". It just makes no sense. I just would like to be at a place with some open-minded, yet reasonably skeptical people who have a sense of humor and don't take everything to heart. And I don't take kindly to the, "I know the truth and you don't" attitude.

It's quite a frightening thing to suffer from at times. Of course, I did my reading and learned to understand the nature of the debility and didn't rush to any conclusions that what I was suffering from was abnormal. I'm willing to share my experiences of course.

I consider myself a bit of a skeptic.
I rarely weigh in on topics about ghosts, aliens, ect.
I'm more of a history buff myself.

Im not so much a UFO'er - I tend to think like Doodle, we are alone and there's more going on than we're told. But I tend to leave it there, I dont go for conspiracy theories etc.
When it comes to the paranormal I also think people can be too 'easy' with the term, just throwing it out there. If I hadnt had two experiences myself I dont think I would be interested at all.
Criminal Psychology and the make up of serial killers are my main 'thing', especially at the moment. I also enjoy unexplained human disappearances (many the result of murder or accident imho).
Hope you enjoy your time with us

Lately I've been reading about Tommy Lynn Cells (I saw his interview from a jail in Texas about two years ago and it was absolutely chilling) and Richard Kuklinski (also did some unsettling interviews from jail). Criminal psychology interests me a lot. I'm well read in personality disorders, their diagnostic criteria, and other things of that nature.

Actually, with all my interest in things of abnormal nature, I've only had a couple minor odd things happen to me. One "ghost" sighting (although it was a little different than your average apparition story) and an out-of-body experience brought on by having sleep paralysis (people with that disorder can be prone to having them). My experiences are probably mild compared to our other members.
