Can renovating a house or any other building unleash paranormal activity? Why or why not?

I guess its a possibility, depending on the type of haunting. If its a consciuos haunting, and the spirit is attached to the home - then why wouldnt changes upset the 'vibe'.

It does bring up some points to ponder tho :)

I was listening to a program here the other night about ghosts and the man said his investigation group gets frequent inquiries from people who are remodeling a building when paranormal activity seems to start. Sometimes people have lived in a home for years with nothing unusual until they start the project and then the paranormal activity starts immediately.

Actually, to use an "ism", all heck can break loose if a building is remodled, especially if the ghost does not like the new decor. down.gif sick.gif

There are numerous accounts where residents or owners; such as with a resturant or bar; remodel a building, only to find the resident ghost; which someone just happened to forget to tell them about; comes out of hiding. That's why most states have decleration clauses in all Real Estate contracts; such as is the place haunted or did a crime take place in the building. Failure to declare such details can mean a severe fine or fines against the original owners and/or the against the realator.

I have read of cases where the haunting was so severe it literally caused the place to be turned upside down with extreme poltergiest activity. It can sometimes cause the owners to vacate very quickly. blink.gif

I think yes also - you hear of this kind of stuff when people Move in to the new home , and most
of us like to remodel or change some things . It makes good sense , it might upset a current
ghost who has been around since long before you moved it . In turn you will have a haunting
or one frustrated ghost.

Great question Campfire - are you in this situation now ?

I believe it is only one spirit who has followed you perhaps nearby from the land. I believe it is appearing as a male in his early 40's. You need to pray to your God for protection and removal of this spirit. If you are feeling fear when he shows, pray and ask God to remove your fear and pray with faith and from your heart. Showing and feeling fear shows these spirits your lack in faith in God. Be firm and tell this spirit to leave, although not angrily. It will leave since you are God's child; however it can come back again. If you are strong enough tell it to leave in Jesus's name (if this is your faith) and that it is not wanted here and that this is your home and you are claiming it back. You ought to be glad it is only one. I have a portal and have many that keep coming through. They don't come as close to me as they have in the past since I have been getting closer with God. My family is trying although lagging behind me a bit...lol. We have an upper level demon who has been difficult to get rid of. 3 of us have seen him in particular. My brother n laws nurse saw a dark figure recently too. I haven't figured out how to close that door yet but I feel once we are completely right with God things will get much, much better. Since I've had spiritual experiences all my life, my family relies on me way too much when it comes to paranormal happenings in our home. If they would stand up for themselves and face these things with less fear, then things would get even better around here. But I understand. Couldn't tell you how many times I grabbed my pillow and blanket and slept on my parents floor when I was younger, even as a teenager. Our home started to act up after many years of living here. I knew the upstairs didn't feel right but I was always good at dismissing things. My husband had several experiences after meeting me. I never told him about my spiritual encounters. When our home started I had to tell him. It started to make sense to him when he found out, although, it scared the heck out of him. My husband never went to church but since all this in our home he wanted to go and attends faithfully. Anyway, do pray and claim your home back when you have gained the courage. Just don't let it stay too long. The longer it stays, the more difficult it is to get rid of it. If worst comes to worst, or at least temporarily, pour course sea salt around your bed or just along your doorways and all your window sills in your bedroom. If your faith is in it, this will at least keep him out of your room. You can find the course sea salt at your local grocery store in the salt isle. It is not expensive.

I'd say earthbound spirits are more likely to respond to changes to something they believed they once owned!

I like this actress ! I found this .......

Scream actress Neve Campbell said her former house in Los Angeles was haunted and she used to see the woman that was murdered in the home throughout the house!

The 37-year-old told British Live magazine: ‘I know that ghosts exist because I’ve seen one. A few years ago I moved into a haunted house in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles, with some friends. It turned out that it was inhabited by the ghost of a woman who had been murdered there in 1991.’

She added: ‘Doors would repeatedly slam, windows would open and ashtrays would fly off dressers. Then there were times when the ghost would actually walk into the room. After a while it just felt normal. I would pass her in the hallway and casually wish her good morning.’

One can just about count on it, if there is a presence already there but not active, or the renovations have "caused" whatever is there to react to the work being done.
1. Oh why do you have to make everything so dramatic"?

2. You are the champion of not dealing with your problems.

3. Idiots are fun. That's why every village wants one.

4. If you talk to God you're religious. If God talks to you, you're psychotic
