I was looking at images of ancient Greece on Google and came across this photo called "Vergina tomb"
I have been trying to find out more about it but aside from photos of it, I am not finding much, I keep getting "restricted access" sites. There's alot of reference to Alexander the Great and his family, is that who is supposed to be buried here?

There were two tombs excavated, the first one is the one I'm wondering about.
Tomb II I am reading belonged to Phillip, Alexander's brother.

Here's the first Vergina Tomb (excavated from the Nile River in Alexandria)

TombII images, I am not going to bore you with the plain white door, if you want to see it click on the source at the end.

Here's a colored mosaic around the outside of the tomb.

So does anyone have any thoughts on if its Alexander in the first tomb or someone else in his family?

I forgot to add the source for the photos.

Well, one thing to keep in mind with Greek and Roman era art is that they had different ideas of "proper" regarding art. I recall seeing a Pompeii exhibit in Chicago (Field Museum maybe?) and being somewhat surprised to see what we'd consider porn or in bad taste being rather popular motifs in home decor items. Relying on Art and Art History texts, who'd have thought it!
That might explain some of the restricted access areas?

Double and triple check the spelling and hit Google &/or Yahoo, and see what comes up. (Or for that matter "Tomb of Alexander the Great" and see what comes up.)
