There are photos of her, probably findable on Google, try a search by her name.

Julia Pastrana's photos are online too, and apparently there's a book about her. There's a sad life though... She was billed as "World's Ugliest Woman" and the crowds that came to see her mocked her appearance, despite her being a skilled performer of song and dance.

Couldn't find any photos of her, she was probably around too early for there to be any but I read her skeleton is on display at the Hunterian Museum in Scotland.
She only lived to be 9 years old. Unfortunately dwarfs usually have a short life span.

http://www.trestle.u...llestperson.asp is a play that was written about Caroline. They fashioned her character out of a puppet, so you can somewhat see what she looked like...

That theatre looks pretty unique... kinda cool actually

Amazing, life would be difficult for sure plus people treating you like some freak, how sad.
I was thinking about the movie Pinocchio after you were talking about the size of a puppet.
I know a little person and he is now in his 20's. He has had many surgeries, he wants to be
taller. He will always be small looking head, hands, etc on a slightly taller frame. What ever
makes him happy and feel better about himself. Life is hard enough without a disability.

That is very small. It must've been very difficult living life so tiny and being put on display and treated like some freak. Very sad.

Primordial dwarves will be less than 4 feet 10 inches tall. Their growth is proportional, yet very slow. Both genders and all ethnic backgrounds seem to be equally affected. The most noticeable symptom occurs during pregnancy, when the mother realizes she isn't showing much.

There are several syndromes associated with primordial dwarfism. Seckel syndrome causes a very short stature and a smaller than average head (microcephaly). Growth is below the 5th percentile on growth charts, and the average birth weight is 3 lbs 6 oz. Delayed bon age, scoliosis, hip or head dislocation, and neurological issues like seizures may occur.

Osteodysplastic primordial dwarfism type I, ODPD I, also results in short stature and microcephaly, and growth delay begins during pregnancy. Sparse hair, short vertebrae, hip dislocation, apnea and seizures can occur with this syndrome. Agenesis of the corpus callosum may be present.

ODPD II also includes microcephaly, and premature birth is common. After birth, growth delay is severe, with children falling below the 3rd percentile on growth charts. Progressive widening of part of bones, dislocated joints, and scoliosis, among other issues, may occur.

Meier-Gorlin syndrome is similar to two other types of primordial dwarfism - seckel syndrome and ODPD II. However, those with this syndrome will experience poor weight gain and they may end up taller than other primordial dwarves.
