There is a bridge near the town of Azalia, Indiana that is haunted by the ghost of a girl who jumped to her death many years ago. If you stop your car on the bridge and honk the horn three times she suddenly appears as a white vaporous form. She sometimes gets in the car with people and rides to the other side, where she just vanishes.

Oops, I'm re-reading [u]"Hoosier Folklore Legends" [/u ]by Ronald L. Baker. There is a similar story that I heard this past summer involving a bridge just west of Indianapolis.
