My brother took me here today because I think he thinks its haunted and if so I might pick up on it. Its eerie, NO houses, NO stores, NO street signs, its like they all just took everything and left. just streets with smoke and dust, old telephone poles and driveways leading up to nothing.
When I got out of the car to take some pics I got an instant headache between my eyes..it was totally gone when we left the area. Another girl was taking pics and her batteries died right while she was doing it. Thats all that happened, but if I had to make my town dissapear I dont know how that would go well with spirits who alreay decided to stay.
Would need to go back at night.
Anyone else ever been there?

I haven't been there but I've heard about it. Millions of tons of coal lost in the fire. It is unsafe to walk in some areas because you can fall through into the pit below.

Yeah I've read about it too.
Such a weirdly freaky thing I reckon. I can only imagine how eerie it is there, but wouldnt necessarily think it would be any more or less haunted than anywhere else.

Oh wow...that sure brought back memories that I havent thought of for years. I do think I was there when I was a child.. I do believe it was there..dont remember the name of the town..I have to ask my grandfather. We went there or drove thru or something like that..I remember seeing smoke stacks that was coming out of the ground and smoke jcoming out of them..and I remember asking my grandfather why were there houses under ground..and if they were cold why not come out above ground and get warm lol. Thats when he told me about the fire that was underground because of the coal. Do they still have the smoke stacks/large pipes coming up out of the ground? Remember I was really young. We lived in PA and we used to travel and go on road trips all time on nice days. I dont remember if we were just driving thru or if we actually went there to see them? IS that the only one in PA..if so then I have deff been to that one. Wow I cant believe its still burning? I do remember goin to one in Pa. I do remember it being real hilly while we drove...and sharp bends/turns...I remember see a smoke stack/big ol pip coming from the ground at one downward bend turn to the left..we drove right past one..I remember being amazed that something was on fire with in the ground..and kept watching it .
edit: Its amazing what we remember when we were smaller..why in the world would I remember about a downward bend/turn to the left next to a smoke stack lol.
