I could tell you about 4 or 5 stories that I and my children have had and I had the scarier experiences.The shadow people were different from each other.One was a male with a hat but like a fedore the child one seem to me to be a female little girl.I have also seen the kind that do not have a human form reminds me of the jinn or smoky form-like a heat wave.I have seen the kind with semi human shape with red very scary eyes there were 3 of those standing at the end of my bed.The other that scared me badly too was the one who was outside the front door abot 6ft 4in give or take with muscles.I thought it was huge human male lol getting ready to break in but it was a shadow person who walked through the wall in full view I gasped because I had thought it was a human turned my way then looked forward and then began to chase another shadow figure though this room and thru walls.This all to place in a matter of seconds except when he was outside oh he also blocked out the porchlight while standing outside this window .I really thought this one was a human being.All this took place in an apartment we lived in for a year and has never happened again with as much intensity for which I am glad.There was no voilence ,suffering or dark and dreary nights when I experienced them in full view.Most of them did scary me pretty bad and I had a feeling of doomdom however.I also felt protected too which to me is truly weird.Lovely article-so many theroies(sp)and experiences and it is truly a mystery.

I see shadow figures daily. I have chosen to ignore 'the other world' that exists within our own. My bad experience has led me to hide or run from any form of communication with the other side. I started seeing people and 'things' when I was a child. I was told that whatever I had seen - I made it up in my head (listen to your children please -they may be telling you the truth). I have been nose to nose with a demon and it is by far the scariest experience that I have ever had. I pretend like I don't hear or see 'them' so they will leave me alone. I am scared if they know I know I hear/see them, they will try to communicate or interfere with me.

I see darting shadows pretty much every day (night) in my room. Mostly in the corners near the ceiling, these are smaller more cloud like shadows. There are indeed also some man height rounded top shadows. Sometimes they lean over me and I see the shadow of the shadow falling over me. The scariest one was where I walked out of the bathroom one night and as I turned towards my room door there suddenly past by me a pretty tall 'beam' of dark shadow. My instant reaction was that I was about to walk into someone but then it was gone...and there wasn't anybody there but I sure felt it; the reaction of fright of slamming into somebody while walking and the sudden dark and disappearance.
Sometimes, not lately, but in my teens quite often, there weren't so many shadows but a lot of conversations. A male and female voice in front of one of my closet doors. They are pretty quiet now. In my teens there was also a distinct male shadow, outline of body, arms, legs, head; no facial features..who stood at my foot end of my bed. My room door kept opening at night too. We even put a little plate on it because we thought it just didn't latch very well. I ended up having to YANK my door open cuz it kinda stuck..and still at night I'd wake up see the shadow and my door would be open. He followed me too, to a weekend house of a friend. He just stood out on the lawn and then started walking towards the house. I freaked out and ran into the other room, but I could still feel him, pin point where he was (the 4th window standing half in the light) thru the wall! My friends didn't see anything.
But now the shadows in my room are pretty much always there...Don't quite know what to make of them. They don't make me feel bad or anything. Except when they lean over me cuz it's so real the feeling and all that it kinda scares me.

about one year ago i saw a shadow figure in my bedroom. i had just turned out the lights and was about to go asleep when i saw a dark figure undulating in the corner of my room near the floor. at first i thought my eyes were being tricked by the absense of light, but once i realized i was really seeing something, i became extremely terrified! my heart started racing. all i could think to do was throw my pillow at it and turn on the lamp next to my bed. once i did that, it disappeared. i eventually fell asleep with the lights on. a few months later i had a session with a psychic i sometimes go to. i explained what happened and he asked me if the dark figure reminded me of a slug....i agreed that it sort of did. he told me i was lucky because it wasn't particularly malevolent. he said it was one of those dark spirits that likes to attach itself to humans. he said it was good it did not get to me. he also said he was surprised i saw it. he believes my good spirits were looking out for me and made me aware it was in the room. i also believe this happened to me because i had another more powerful psychic read my akashic records around the same time of the incident. i think other beings became aware of me when she did that. on another note, i've had a number of strange things happen to me over the course of my life. several have included the presence of shadows. on two other occassions, i was wide awake and witnessed my own shadow arm and shadow leg move around as extensions of my real body. they both had the same sensation of a real arm or leg, but they were shadow outlines instead. i believe this is tied to my natural ability to have obe's. that said, i have a tendancy to stop them when i think i'm about to leave my body. i just keep thinking i might encounter something i wouldn't want to see.

i think there's some night time being. i saw a shadow move through the shadows. you feel it first, they you see it. once i thought i was being watched, i thought i heard someone come down a trail. then i saw what seemed to be a shadow playing tricks. it scared me. now this demon i saw and felt, it moved through the apartment. feeling it 1st, then as it moves, hearing it. i felt it was in the other room. i was a bit worried, as it seemed it was sneaking up to me. i noticed a shadow danced on the wall as if something behind me moved. i really couldn't see how a shadow would do that. it wasn't my shadow, it moved after me. i think it has to do with aliens, and daimons.

I see Moving shadows out of the corner of my eye all the time, especially in certain locations, like my parent's house. One night, I came home to my parent's house late and was walking up the front steps from the sidewalk. I thought I saw a neighbor that regularly walks his dog, but realized the time and made a double take. I saw a shadow man on my neighbor's front steps. one leg up on the next step, walking up. He was stopped and turned to look back at me. He was perfectly dark and opaque, his form was distinct. you could even see his profile. Even though he was jet black, there was a sense of mass to his form, you could tell that his arms were next to his sides and see the movement. it was the most terrifying night of my life. He looked at me and turned back. I ran to the house and cannot forget that night.

when i was about 10, (im 13 now), i had seen shadow of a dog out of the corner of my eye. i thought it was my dog, shamoo. i got up and looked for her in the hallway but i couldnt find her. so i want downstairs and asked my mom if she'd seen shamoo and she said "yeah, she's right there" she was under a table. mom said that she had been there for about an hour!! i told her that i saw a shadow of a dog and next thing i know shes on the phone with my grandma!! we went to live with her until we bought the house im in right now!!!! we had done some investigating, and it turned out to most likely be "the grim".

For all this time, I thought I was losing my mind. I have several mental health doctors, who are all treating me for an unknown condition as my encounters have became more and more frequent and distressing.

I started seeing, "it" when I was 8. At first, it was just the shadow of something that was not quite the shape of a man, but humanoid in form. The proportions were all wrong, but didn't appear to be because it was a shadow. It had abnormally long arms and fingers and really large shoulders and just made me feel like everything in my world was all wrong, from the moment I first saw it and every time thereafter.

I started to see it more and more until I could hear it speak to me inside my head. It spoke to me much in the way that I imagine a lab tech might speak to a rat that was about to shot up with something to test what effects it might have.

In the beginning, I would wake up in the middle of the night to it on the wall to the right of my bed. I was totally awake and couldn't move anything except my eyes and this became the norm over the next 2 years, with the tone of the shadowman's voice becomming increasingly more threatening towards me, the more I tried to move or scream, It's voice was very much like one of those harmonised robot voices that you used to hear a lot on old electro songs, but with a lot of emotion in it. It never spoke to me in English, but somehow I always knew what it was meaning. I told my grandmother about it, but she told me that as I was abused when I was younger, that it was just a reoccuring nightmare and that this was probably normal, but that dreams couldn't hurt me and I would grow out of it in time.

The last occasion I saw it as a child, I managed to move one arm and with every ounce of strength mustered a whisper and I pointed at it. I told it to go away and that I didn't want to see it ever again because I didn't like the way it made me feel. It suddenly shuddered as if I had physically hit it with a punch and screamed at me, so loud inside my mind that it felt like my head would explode. It then darted from the wall that it always stood on across to the wall above my bed and grabbed my arm. I can't even begin to to explain what the pain felt like and I couldn't even scream, only yell out a whimper. I passed out and awoke in the morning to find a blister on my arm. I showed my grandmother the blister, but she was a very rational, logical kind of person and told me that I had probably hurt myself the night before and had incorporated it into my nightmare.

I took this as truth as I trusted my grandmother's judgement on just about everything at that age.

It took a few sleepless nights with the lights on before I was able to fall asleep normally and for 23 years, I didn't see it again and eventually, I believed that I had dreamed it all up to cope with the abuse I suffered as an infant.

Last October, I was in a friend's house watching the sci-fi movie, "The Fourth Kind". I was enjoying the movie, laying on my friend's couch while everyone else was in bed. The movie then got to the part where Milla Jovovich's character listens to the tape of the alien's voice, recorded when her character's being abducted. In an instant I was 10 again, all alone, helpless and powerless. The next thing I know, one of my friends bursts into the room to see what all the noise is about to find me curled up on the floor in a cold sweat, screaming as loud as I could.

I know that it was complete coincidence, but the voice on that movie is the closest representation of the shadowman's voice that I can convey and the way that it shrieks, the second time it's voice is potrayed to come from Milla's character under hypnosis is so accurate that I simply can't watch that movie ever again.

Since then, I have begun to encounter the shadowman again.

Last week I went into my girlfriend's bathroom and almost walked right into it. I ran back to my girlfriend and had to get her to look before I would go back in there. She told me that she couldn't see anything, but that she felt cold and sad all at the same time when she went into the bathroom.

I never have, and will never say that I believe the shadowmen are, "aliens".

Until I plucked up the courage to see if there was any other presidence of anyone else seeing these beings, I fully believed that I was going insane.

2 nights ago, I heard it speaking again, but sounding as if it was in another room.

I am now a 34 year old man, who is afraid of the dark. I fear that my encounters are going to become a daily thing again and that in remembering it, I have let it back into my life and this world again.

Either I am very ill, or these creatures are real. Either way, I am so very glad to find that i'm not the only one who has seen them and i'm not alone anymore.
